MOJA PRVA AFRIČKA AVANTURA

Napuštam udobnost i toplinu svoga doma i krećem solo u daleku egzotičnost. Moj nemirni avanturistički duh me je nagnao da iskusim nešto potpuno novo – da putujem sama i da ispunim sebi želju da prazničnu zimsku sezonu provedem na egzotičnom Zanzibaru. To je otprilike moja zamisao Raja na Zemlji dok napuštam svoj dom po hladnjikavom zimskom jutru i pomalo ledenim danima, obučena kao za odmor u Alpima ali sa prtljagom prepunim letnjih divota i aksesoara  za toplu suncem okupanu skoro Ekvatorijalnu klimu. Usput se pitam ko su sve ljudi sa kojima ću provesti dve nedelje odmora i praznika, možda steći nove prijatelje, napraviti nova internacionalna poznanstva ali sigurno provesti nezaboravne trenutke i steći jedno novo neobično lepo iskustvo.

MY FIRST AFRICAN ADVENTURE

Leaving the comfort and cozy warmth of my home and embarking solo on a faraway exoticism. My restless adventurous spirit has urged me to experience something completely new - to travel all alone and to make the wish promised to myself realized to spend the winter festive season on exotic Zanzibar. That is just about how I imagine the Paradise on the Earth while leaving my home on a bit coolish winter morning and a period of freezing days, dressed up as if departing for the Alps holidays, however, with the luggage full of fancy and attractive summer outfits and accessories for the warm Sun kissed almost Equatorial climate. On the way I wonder who the folks who I would be spending the next two weeks and holidays are, whether I might get some new friends or make new international friendships, but it is for certain that I will spend the unforgettable moments and acquire a novel unusually wonderful experience.

NICE OR CANNES

Why the eternal dilemma similar to that of TO BE OR NOT TO BE

The Essentials of Nice

Between the sea and the mountains there reigns Nice, a typical city of Mediterranean atmosphere, like a constant air of dolce vita recalling its long Italian history. Its unique light and its landscapes have inspired many artists, forming an ideal setting for the realization of colorful paintings in the arts of Matisse or Chagall. From pictorial art to the art of living there is only one step: in Nice one takes pleasure in the search of typical Provençal products before tasting the delicious local specialties. With its sea view, Nice, the Capital of the French Riviera, never ceases to surprise its visitors who come there in numbers during the Carnival or during the summer to enjoy the advantage of the beaches nearby. From Palace Massena to the Promenade des Anglais one finds these favorite venues in Nice:

Veille Nice

To visit Old Nice is to dive in the medieval history of the city, in its picturesque heart. A veritable maze of winding streets and small squares, Old Nice houses, typical restaurants and local products shops. There are smells of spices and flowers coming directly from the Cours Saleya market which takes place every morning, to be turned into tourist attraction at night of numerous restaurants offering tasty meals. Not tasting the best ice cream in the world at Fennocio’s is a big loss. Latino dances in the open - who can resist that? Old Nice provides also an opportunity to remember the history of the city: Napoleon Bonaparte lived at number 6 in the street that bears his name today.

The Carnival of Nice, the flagship event

For more than 120 years, Nice has organized one of the biggest Carnivals in the world: during two weeks and three weekends in February-March the party is in full swing throughout the city. Around the Place Massena and Albert 1er Garden, the parades of floats follow one another during the famous multicolored corsi and there are flower battles, giant parades and animations day and night. It is one of the most anticipated moments of the year for Nice.

There is always something to do in Nice and no one stays alone or disappointed. And it is a crossroad to all other charming small places at the French Riviera taking the many trains that leave from Gare Thiers.
